A summer cuteness overload!
This is a handmade Y Necklace and is inspired by the Turkish Summer color combinations of the Turquoise and deep red/crimson. The stars are added (other than the fact that the Turkish flag carries one) to wish the wearer to create beautiful memories out in the open skies, as many of us deserve after the depressing pandemic…
The importance of the colours red and blue for the Turks:
Colour is considered important for the Turks, as during Kosovo War 1480s, Ottomans lost many lives and shed a lot of blood. The crimson color used is to remember the “price paid” at war. So during war, battle parties were carrying different colored flags to symbolize the nations they belonged to and after war, to remember the cost of it, many changed their flag designs.
Fun Facts:
•Red symbolizes the blood of martyrs for Turks and helps to remember the cost of sovereignty and freedom.
•Did you know that the name “Turquoise” came from the Turks and was given by the French? It means “Turkish Stone”. The first tribe to ever name themselves “Turk” were the Sky Turks (Gök Türk) as they believed in the “Göktengri”(the god in the sky) before converting to Islam.
Turkish people love using these colors especially during summer time! As it emanates positivity, happiness and joy! And needless to say: SUMMER TIME IN TURKEY DOWN THE SOUTH COAST IS THE BEST!!🌞🏖

Paying homage to my best friend and family in this picture, whom I lost on December 29, 2022, my little “Toffee”. She is a very special angel in my life who constantly shared her unconditional love with me. She is my inspiration and emotional crutch even today… and will always be, as she is forever with me. Our bodies fade, but the energy of our love and connection goes on eternally. I love you Toffee. Forever. Until we meet again.
